As has been the case for many years now, our politicians have had trouble passing a federal budget. With business-as-usual thinking, our politicians (democrats and republicans) negotiated a federal budget. Approximately 1600 pages of budget.

Did all the voting politicians read it in the few hours allotted before the vote? Probably not. Was this budget given to the American people to review and give their input to their representatives before the vote? No. THIS IS BUSINESS AS USUAL.

A rich man (like Bill Gates or George Soros) read the budget. He identified parts of the budget that he thought were wasteful, or at least not in line with what he thought Americans wanted and sent that information out via social media so the American people could comment. Americans reviewed that information, and many contacted their elected representatives and asked them not to approve that budget. Isn't this what we want? Americans telling their elected representatives what they want?

Hopefully, long gone are the days of sending our elected officials off to Washington to vote for us without our input. With social media/internet/modern communications, we can give our elected officials our input almost immediately.

This kind of feedback by Americans can stop politicians from wasting our hard-earned tax dollars. If you want examples of blatant government waste, look up Senator Rand Pauls' "Festivus Report". A good question to ask after looking at the Rand Paul reports for the last NINE YEARS, is this what our elected representatives thought we wanted to spend our tax dollars on?
