It's what we asked for, just not how we wanted it.

Our current president was elected running on the following issues:
Stopping illegal and uncontrolled immigration
Reducing waste/fraud/abuse in government
Reducing the federal deficit
Stopping illegal immigration is easy. I would have Built the wall or at least manned the borders to stop illegal immigration. The president did this.
The uncontrolled immigration issue is harder. AI says about 9.2 million legal immigrants came to the US between 2020 and 2024. Our country cannot assimilate that many immigrants in such a short time.
Most Americans can agree with deporting drug smugglers/dealers, human traffickers, criminals, immigrants unwilling to assimilate into our society, unwilling to work, etc. But what about the majority of immigrants? The majority of immigrants are the type of people we want to come to America, but in a controlled manner. We need to either support them or send them back to their respective country. Based on our current national debt, we have to send them back. I believe the "Dreamer" immigrants and their parents that have been here, contributed to, and assimilated into our society, should be allowed to stay and become Americans.
Identifying Waste/Fraud/Abuse is being well done by Musk and his team.
The DEI initiatives from the previous administration are not waste/fraud/abuse, they are just not in alignment with the current administration and can be stopped.
A big portion of the waste/fraud/abuse occurs in the way our government used Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) to accomplish its goals. In many cases these NGOs (some of which were operated by the family and friends of congressmen) used the government funds to give themselves huge salaries. These NGO's also distributed tax-payer money to other NGOs or organizations for purposes other than what the funding was intended. Politicians claim that getting rid of USAID will cause children to starve. What they do not say is that only 5 - 15% of the tax-payer money actually fed children, the rest was basically stolen/wasted by the NGOs. NGOs are necessary but need controls and proper accounting practices.
Other waste/fraud/abuse in the government is the number of government workers. When the government leases a building and sets it up to handle 2900 government workers and only 50 workers on average show up to work in that building, we have too many workers.
Inefficiency is also a waste of government funds. Our SS administration still uses paper copies to administer its services. Modernize it and reduce the headcount.
Another waste of our tax dollars is when we grant a college funding, the colleges take 65% for administration/overhead costs, leaving only 35% for the original purpose.
Reducing the federal deficit will only occur when our president and congressmen stop funding other countries and subsets of Americans. If it doesn't benefit ALL Americans, then it should not be federally funded. Tax-payer dollars saved should then be used to pay down the deficit.
